Minnesota Vikings team report: Adrian Peterson rested, healthy for Packers

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn.—The Minnesota Vikings will have had 15 days between games when they play at Lambeau Field on Monday night. That’s a bonus for a team that can’t win without Adrian Peterson at his very best.
Peterson has had extra time to rest a relatively minor ankle sprain from Oct. 23's loss to the Green Bay Packers at the Metrodome. Peterson went on to have 162 yards from scrimmage in a win over the Carolina Panthers the following week. But the ankle was still bothering him a little bit.
Peterson won’t have any physical limitations coming off a bye. He’ll also have the added energy of playing on a nationally televised game against a team that allowed him to run for 175 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries just three weeks ago. Peterson’s 892 yards rushing for the 101-game series against the Packers is a team record.
He also has two of the franchise’s top three rushing performances against the Packers, including a 192-yard game in 2008. Peterson also is coming off a career-high 76 yards receiving in the 24-21 win at Carolina.

Vikings’ Allen assists wounded veterans

Army veteran Josh Bullis is too young to have to be put back together. At age 22, he should worry about finding a good tattoo parlor, not whether his new house has a roll-in shower for a wheelchair.
Fortunately for Bullis, through the charitable work of Minnesota Vikings star Jared Allen(notes), some of Bullis’ concerns have been alleviated. Through Allen’s “Homes for Wounded Warriors” program, Bullis is the latest veteran to get some assistance in life as a triple amputee.
“It’s more like the mental aspect, this allows me to be independent and feel independent again,” said Bullis, who lost both legs and his left arm when he stepped on an IED in Afghanistan in September 2010. “It makes me feel like I haven’t lost as much.”

Wilf says Vikings committed to stadium in Arden Hills, nowhere else

Minnesota Vikings owner Zygi Wilf emphasized Friday in a letter to Gov. Mark Dayton that he’s committed to building a football stadium in Arden Hills — and only in Arden Hills.
Wilf said the $400 million or more that he and the NFL are willing to dedicate to a $1.1 billion stadium is site-specific. If the state chooses Minneapolis or another location for the new stadium, the money won’t follow.

“The Vikings’ private investment of more than $400 million is specific to the Arden Hills location because of the opportunities that exist with that site,” he wrote. “Any other location would not justify anywhere near the level of commitment we have made in Arden Hills.”

Restaurant growth in Green Bay area, Wisconsin remains strong – Green Bay Press Gazette

For the first time in three months, restaurants around the country reported growth and a positive outlook in September, according to the National Restaurant Association.
But in Green Bay and across the state, the good news from September is merely a continuation of a strong year that has provided more peaks than valleys compared to the national restaurant industry.
The National Restaurant Association has a monthly index that measures the industry's health as well as its six-month outlook. Scores above 100 indicate expansion and scores below 100 indicate contraction.
